Horningtoft Community Fund
The Horningtoft Community Fund is a registered charity, number 212733 and gets its income from an investment made in 1965 from the proceeds of the sale of a cottage that was condemned, the income from the rent did not provide funds to repair it. To see the full story please see this document.
This small annual income can provide support solely for residents of Horningtoft, the funds have increased over the past few years. The money is there for the use of our community and in the present situation there will most certainly be deserving recipients. If you have any extra expenses such as home schooling or know of someone else who can benefit in some way, please use the contact page and your message will be picked up by one of the Trustees and treated in confidence.

There were two requests for funds received this financial year and funds were given to both.
The Trustees would like any family or individual, who have lived in the village for more than one year, who could benefit from funds to contact any one of them. Such funds may for example cover costs of travelling expenses to work, college or health, education expenses such as text books, educational visits and specialised teaching aids, child minding or nursery care, internet and broadband costs for work, education or research. We are sure that if we think carefully there are many ways we can use the income to benefit more residents.

The Trustees are at present Pauline Chapman, Heather Gooch and Liz Logan, they remain so until 2022.

Activities
After the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic we knew that there would likely be families living in the village that could benefit from some extra help. The Community Fund information was included in an email sent out by the Support Group and as a result applications were made to us and we were able to make funds available to six families to assist in the extra expenses involved in home schooling for eleven children.
The Trustees would like to remind everyone one that further funds are available, not just for children, but to anyone who has lived in the village for more than one year. Residents can contact any one of the trustees in confidence. There will obviously still be on-going expenses because of the Covid-19 virus and the fund is there to help.
Funds may for example cover costs of working from home, education expenses such as text books, specialised teaching aids, child minding or nursery care, internet and broadband costs. All requests are treated in strict confidence by the Trustees.
