Horningtoft Remembers 1914-18 WW1
In 2014 the Heritage Society held an exhibition in St Edmund's church over the weekend of 19 and 20th July to mark the centenary of the First World War by discovering the impact the war had on the village. The two day exhibition in the church told the story of those who enlisted, the survivors, those who died, and those who were left to cope at home. Including Military records, Service Records, Family photographs, Letters, Postcards, Medals, Memorabilia and Family trees, 1911 Census, maps and documents, along with research facilities. These records have now been compiled in folders and can be seen on the Heritage desk in the Church.
Breckland Council's The World War One Heritage Fund supported our event by a grant of £500.
